Stono Construction Group, LLP was established in 1999 as a way to allow our family to work together with each member bringing his/her own expertise to the business. The company is comprised of Jerry and Jason Houston, the father and son team who combine their experience and knowledge to form the residential/commercial construction side of the company; Richard Cottrell oversees the operation of the utility construction division; and his wife, Michele, handles the administrative issues.

Jerry Houston brings over thirty years of experience to the company in both residential and commercial construction. Having worked for both major contractors and on his own, he wanted an opportunity to work side by side with his son, Jason and his daughter, Michele. Jason spent five years working for national builders and wanted to use his talents in the custom home market where there is more opportunity for hands on experience with the customer. Both father and son bring their individual talents to the customer. Michele moved with her husband, Richard, back to South Carolina after earning her law degree. She joined the company as a way to work closely with her father and brother. Shortly there after, Richard began working full time with the company starting a utility construction division. His expertise in this area of construction has allowed the company to grow in ways that were not imagined in the beginning.
